ASHE COUNTY ANNUAL 4th OF JULY FIREWORKS CELEBRATION
July 4, 2019
Gates to Ashe County Park will open at 3:00 PM. A shuttle bus will run from the new courthouse parking lot beginning at 3:30 PM and will run again at the end of the fireworks show. There will be inflatables for kids ($5 for an all-day wristband). Concessions will be available and there will be a couple of specialty vendors. High Country Disc Golf Course will be closed the entire day. Bring a lawn chair or blanket.

TODD LIBERTY PARADE
July 4, 2019
This unique parade by Elkland Art Center is a walk-in parade. Everyone is invited to bring costumes and decorations to the parade. Life-sized puppets are a highlight every year. The parade will be followed by a free concert. Bring a lawn chair or blanket.

33RD ANNUAL CHRISTMAS IN JULY FESTIVAL
July 5-6, 2019
Head to downtown West Jefferson on Fri, July 5, 3-10pm for the Christmas in July kick off & on Sat, July 6, 9am-7pm for the full festival! The festival features many Christmas crafts, a tree bailing competition, and a chance to visit Santa Claus. You can do a little early Christmas shopping, listen to local mountain music and watch traditional dance, eat festival food, or grab something fresh from the farmers’ market. There is plenty to entertain kids, including street performers with magic tricks, bubbles and music, a giant puppet parade and children’s activities.

TWEETSIE RAILROAD FIREWORKS EXTRAVAGANZA

Enjoy the most spectacular fireworks show in the High Country! It's one of the most popular Summer events in the mountains. Spend the day at Tweetsie Railroad. The Park is open from 9 am to 9 pm on the Fourth. There is NO charge for parking. Fireworks at 9:30. Take advantage of the optional dinner and VIP Fireworks viewing in the Hacienda. An all-you-can-eat buffet will be served with all the trimmings. Don't miss out! Availability is limited. Get your wristband at the Ticket Office. $20 for Adults and $15 for Children age 3-12 (in addition to Admission fee). Enjoy fireworks under the stars at 9:30 pm after the park closes.

Emergency vehicles of all sizes will parade through the downtown area honoring firefighters, rescue squads, police and sheriff’s departments from Wilkes and surrounding counties. After the parade, sit back and enjoy the annual fireworks display from Memorial Park. Bring your lawn chairs or a blanket and spend the evening.
