Just stayed at the cabin and did absolutely NOTHING! Did go to Food Lion and Big Lots for groceries which was not far from the cabin. "The location was PERFECT and a quick drive to Blowing Rock downtown, Boone, and Tweetsie Railroad. There were multiple forms of entertainment for young kids and for adults. Cute boutiques and delicious restaurants. The house was clean and cozy with spacious rooms. The beds are comfortable. Kitchen was stocked appropriately for cooking or enjoying a glass of wine by the fire. They had plates, bowls, and silverware for young kids. I really appreciated how friendly this place was for toddlers. We were traveling with an almost 2 year old, and she enjoyed the tinker toys, mega blocks, and books. "We loved everything about this beautiful property. The river was wonderful. Our dog and 2 and a half year old grand daughter could not stay out of it! The cabin is so well equipped and maintained and decorated so nicely. We had 10 people including 2 children. One a 3 month old baby. Every single one of us would be happy to rent your beautiful cabin again. What a view. We only had a short weekend, with a mountain wedding in Lansing, thrown in. I wanted to stay for much longer!!!" This cabin is centrally located between Jefferson & Boone , and a very short ride to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The cabin is up on a hill overlooking a stream and you can listen to the rushing water while enjoying coffee on the deck. The cabin is just what we were looking for and had everything we needed during our stay. We got up one morning and it was 58 degrees and that made the Hot Tub even more inviting !! The house has plenty of entertainment options, satellite TV and a nice pool table. On our last morning we were on the deck and watched a deer come out of the woods and wander in and out of a small clearing eating grass. There is construction going on in the area, but it never bothered us. A great place to stay.-Don, Autumn Mist

My family and I rented a cabin from 4 Seasons this past weekend. I found the rental, reserved, and paid for everything on their easily navigable website. When I called the office with questions not answered online, I spoke to someone right away. No phone tag or waiting for someone to call back, which was very convenient. I have been renting cabins through 4 Seasons for 4 years now. I have never had a service problem or a problem with the condition of any of the cabins, and we rent at least 3 times per year. We did have one experience whereby the carbon monoxide monitor was low on batteries and the system was beeping when we arrived. We called the office and got immediate help and the problem was immediately resolved. You have to really do your homework when considering a cabin - look at all the photos several times and review the amenities, to be sure it's what you think you are renting. If you have questions, like the location, or age of the cabin, etc., just email the office and they will answer any questions you have. I love this outfit, their service, the cabins they rent, and the owners that use them to rent their properties." Cam

We have used 4 Seasons Vacation Rentals many times over the years and have been extremely happy every time. We love to explore and try new locations. I was saddened to hear that our very favorite place might not be available any longer. However, with all of the rentals they have, that are pet friendly, I am sure we will find a new favorite. Each cabin is unique and we select them for various reasons. Our daughter always wants a hot tub, I like country charm and hiking, my husband basically wants to just get away from the hustle of city life. We have rented different times during the year, but our absolute favorite time is Thanksgiving. The staff are great to work with and have helped us with planning our outings. We have used 4 Seasons for a LONG time. We come up for Merle Fest each year and stay a week at one of the cabins they represent. Easy to communicate with the folks in the office, payments always were timely and the cabins were as advertised. "River Rocks was the perfect place for our family to meet up with our extended family during a crazy year when we didn't think it would be possible.  The house comfortably fit our family of four as well as grandparents and brother-in-law's family of 5--11 total!  We didn't feel crowded at all because of the layout.  We had everything we needed right on site and never needed to leave the property for several days of relaxation, adventure, and fun.  There was plenty of room for the 7 kids to run around together outside and the playground area is an added bonus that most rentals don't have.  This was such a blessing for us because we live in the city and don't have much space for the kids to run and play.  They could even have adventures on their own on a little trail in the woods along the side of the property.  The lower level was a great hangout area for them to play board games and video games and give the grownups some peace and quiet upstairs.

The river was also an exciting place for them to explore.  We brought lifejackets and tubes, and we were able to walk up-river and float down.  We also spent many evenings at the fire pit, relaxing by the river as the sun set. I also enjoyed running through the picturesque surrounding farmland and doing yoga on the large lower patio.  My favorite part was the expansive covered deck areas overlooking the river.  We spent almost all of our time out there enjoying the landscaping, river, and mountain view.  We ate out there for every meal, read, and talked.  There was space for everyone out there, which is amazing with such a large group.  The weather was perfect, even a little chilly for August, so we could sit out in the fresh, clean air all day, every day watching the kids running around and even enjoying the views when it was raining.  The owner was wonderful and accommodating, answering all our questions whenever needed. This property was perfect for my family of three. Even if we had a few more people we would have been totally comfortable. The grassy area by the creek was fabulous to let our dog roam and have fun! We skipped rocks and enjoyed the solitude of this cabin. Enjoyed the pool table and had nice meals and wine on the deck. We ate at the Boondocks prior to arriving at the cabin for an afternoon snack and local beers. Our son enjoyed playing corn hole there and our dog could be with us on the patio while we ate. Perfect! We had a fabulous time and this is definitely one of the most unique cabins we have stayed in. All of the communication was very prompt and all my questions were answered within a day. We used the outdoor grill and kitchen for all our meals.
