Ashe County offers much in the way of outdoor
activities. You can tube or canoe down the
New River. You can also hike and camp along
the Blue Ridge Parkway. There are other local
attractions like the Todd General Store along
the New River. You can also visit some great
frescos painted by Ben Long at St. Mary's
Episcopal Church in West Jefferson and Holy
Trinity Church in Glendale Springs. Great Fishing in NC
includes the North Fork New River in the west
and several streams in the east along the
Parkway. Jefferson and West Jefferson are the
largest towns in Ashe County.
