The New River is a tributary of the Kanawha River and is approximately 320 miles long, spanning through West Virginia, Virginia and North Carolina. The New River begins at the confluence of the North Fork New River and South Fork New River in Ashe County and flows up through the Iron Mountains of Virginia and into West Virginia.
